About whiteboard.
Why this shape
Written or drawn with a stylus or a finger in the quiz: working, diagrams and sketches without paper.
An example. Sketch the free-body diagram.
What it is
Upload questions take a file as the answer: a photo of handwritten work, a drawing, a document, code, a set of screenshots. The question happens on paper or in another tool and the evidence comes back as a file.
Why it is needed
Not everything can be typed into a box. Working shown on paper, a diagram drawn by hand, a spreadsheet, a repair photographed: these are the real outputs of many subjects, and a quiz that cannot take them tests the wrong thing. The upload shape brings the practical task into the same marked, timed, recorded attempt.
When to use it
Use it for mathematics with working, technical drawing, laboratory results, code and projects, practical trades, and any task where the product is a file. Use the photo shape for tasks done by hand in the room.
How to write one well
Say exactly what the file must show and in what form. Give the marking checklist in the rubric so the reader is consistent. Keep the size limit in mind for photos from phones.
For whiteboard in particular. Give the elements the sketch must show in the rubric.
Mistakes to avoid
A vague instruction that produces unmarkable files. No rubric. Asking for a file when a typed answer would do. Forgetting that a photo of handwriting must be legible to a reader.
How EdProcto marks it
Files are stored with the attempt on the server, up to five per answer and 25 MB each, and marked by a reader against your rubric. The instructor opens each file from the grading page.
Questions.
- How does a student answer a whiteboard question?
- A drawing, made in the quiz. Written or drawn with a stylus or a finger, in the quiz.
- How is whiteboard marked?
- By you. The answer is kept for you to grade, and a score is released only when you release it.
- Can Procto AI write whiteboard questions?
- It writes the prompt, the explanation and the rubric from your material; the image, the file or the recording is the student’s, and the marking is by rule or by you.
